Switching teams

So I finally took the plunge and replaced my Slackware Linux server with Ubuntu Linux. Everything seems to be up and running again now, we’ll see how it goes!

Been using Ubuntu for a while… love it. :) I was a hard core Debian user before but their release cycles were just not working out for me.

I was pretty impressed that my SVN repo transferred over without any issues — I guess slack and ubuntu use the same version of the berkeley db. That was the only thing I was really worried about copying.

Now I have to get used to the “debian-way” of doing things — like enabling modules in Apache2 with symblinks.. kinda weird, but I figured it out. mythtv’s backend is up and running too, which is one of the most important parts of my setup — I need my PVR! :)
