My Last.fm contacts provider doesn't look too bad in the new People app, though I'll have to remove the compatibility / common artists fields as they don't really fit on the screen anymore.

Is it the same API to work with the contacts provider or have they changed it up a bit?
I didn't make any changes to the app yet, that's how the current Gingerbread SDK version of the app looks.
I think there are additional APIs to show pictures in the status area, haven't checked out the new docs yet.
Yeah I'm waiting until tomorrow to dive in
