So I finally took the plunge and replaced my Slackware Linux server with Ubuntu Linux. Everything seems to be up and running again now, we’ll see how it goes!
I was pretty impressed that my SVN repo transferred over without any issues — I guess slack and ubuntu use the same version of the berkeley db. That was the only thing I was really worried about copying.
Now I have to get used to the “debian-way” of doing things — like enabling modules in Apache2 with symblinks.. kinda weird, but I figured it out. mythtv’s backend is up and running too, which is one of the most important parts of my setup — I need my PVR! 🙂
Been using Ubuntu for a while… love it. 🙂 I was a hard core Debian user before but their release cycles were just not working out for me.
