After almost two years of hibernation, I’m proud to announce the first new release of DreamZZT! Head on over to the DreamZZT homepage and check out DreamZZT 3.0.31226 for the Sega Dreamcast, Microsoft(R) Windows(TM), and Linux!

Please be aware that DreamZZT 3.0.31226 is a beta release and may still have some bugs. It has been tested with and will only play the Town of ZZT and any other tested games available from the DZZT.NET homepage. It does not currently support game saves, and may not be suitable for new users at this time.

Happy holidays!

  1. Can you build a linux version that doesn’t link to ALSA (libasound.so)? Or does DreamZZT not support OSS?

    1. DreamZZT currently has no sound at all, however my system’s libSDL was linked against ALSA. I’ve rebuilt libSDL now without support for ALSA, ESD, or aRts so that it’ll be more compatible with other systems. Apparently libtool looks at the dependencies of libSDL.so and tacks them onto my link command. I’m still getting used to autoconf/automake..

New packages are available on the download page.
